Sustainable Water is an independent irrigation company, we are able to install various brand of irrigator the client desires.
Part of Sustainable Water’s operational philosophy is based on fostering mutual trust. We always initially establish full integration and awareness of all the aspects of the property. Environmental and topographical factors are analysed; if existing systems are in place, product and design efficiency is observed for active solutions to be introduced.
When we take on an irrigation project, we understand the responsibility that comes with the role, and we work very closely with our clients to ensure that all of their needs are being met. Sustainable Water’s responsibility is the project management of the install along with the install of mainline, power and pumping stations. All installation work will conform to the INZ Code of Practice 2012.
Sustainable Water is an independent irrigation company, meaning we are able to install any brand of irrigator the client desires. We consistently staying on top of innovations in design and system development. Through our specialised knowledge of products available we can offer the optimum deal. To ensure we get the best irrigator pricing for the client we tender out the pivot supply and installation from the importing companies.
Once we have established the criteria involved, and consulted with our clients, our team produce an irrigation development and design plan for installation. This is provided to our clients as an information package intended to illustrate the details of the proposal. All design work will conform to the INZ Code of Practice 2012.
All our designs aim for the best water use efficiency and the most cost-effective solution for the farmers while considering agronomic and nutrient compliance needs.
Many of the previous irrigation systems installed around Canterbury, particularly in the early days of pivot installs, have been guilty of applying too much water and/or high application intensity compared to the soil type present on the farm, therefore resulting in expensive water run-off and nutrient leaching.
We take a lot of time to ensure that our irrigation application rates are as close to the soil infiltration rates as possible, therefore minimizing expensive nutrient losses and possible environment contamination. While this demands greater attention during our irrigation design, this is fast becoming a requirement to meet the Irrigation New Zealand design standards of the future and if overlooked now, could result in costly updates in the futures required.
